ERIC R. ROUSAR

Eric R. Rousar graduated from Crown College, formerly known as St. Paul Bible College, St. Bonifacius, Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. Eric graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Prior to entering the private practice of law, Eric has worked as a law clerk for a United States Bankruptcy Court Judge and in the Fifth Minnesota Judicial District in Mankato, Minnesota.

Eric has taught business law at Crown College in St. Bonifacius, Minnesota in both their undergraduate and Masters programs. He was a member of the advisory board of Living Waters for Central America. Eric is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association and the Eighth District Bar Association.

JAY A. BENSON

Jay A. Benson graduated from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minnesota with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science. Jay also graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Jay is “of counsel” with our law firm, meaning that Jay is available to assist our clients with their legal needs. Jay works out of our Chanhassen office. In addition to practicing law in those areas that Eric R. Rousar practices, Jay is a consumer bankruptcy attorney. He helps clients with their Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy filings. As such, our firm is a debt relief agency and we help people file for bankruptcy relief. Jay is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association and the Eighth District Bar Association.

DONALD R. SJOSTROM

After his 50 years as a practicing attorney, our friend and colleague, Donald R. Sjostrom has retired. Don has been a hardworking, skilled and committed, but also a friendly legal counselor. He remained true to his Parkers Prairie, Minnesota roots with his straight talking, common sense advice. The truest testament of Don’s commitment and dedication in working for his clients is the number of them that he considers his friends.

Don’s law practice began as a patent attorney with Honeywell. He soon entered the private practice of law, and also spent time as corporate counsel for Van Dale, a farm implement manufacturer in Long Lake, Minnesota.

However, the majority of his career was spent as a private attorney serving his clients. Over the course of his legal career, Don has tackled nearly every type of legal issue. However, as the years moved along, Don focused his workload in the primary practice areas of our law firm which are: Estate Planning, Estate Administration, Real Estate and Small Business. Since the practice of law has become as specialized as the medical profession, Don’s legal career likely will not be duplicated by the next generation of lawyers.
